Dangerous products: 5 recent recalls

You expect the products you buy for yourself and your family to be safe. Unfortunately, some products are dangerous. There are consistent recalls of unsafe items that may be in your home.
According to recalls.gov, some of the latest recalls include toys for children, decorative pillows, string light sets, pressure washers and reusable water bottles. Here is a look at why these products are dangerous.
1. Xylophone toys
When you purchase a toy for kids, you assume it is safe for them to play with. However, the recent recall of a xylophone toy proves otherwise. Toy manufacturer Wild & Wolf is recalling its Petit Collage wooden xylophone because the ball on the stick may detach and cause children to choke. These xylophones were sold at retailers such as Urban Outfitters and Barnes & Noble.
2. Decorative pillows
That pillow you bought for decoration may be harmful to your home. Pillows made by Pinmark are facing recalls because they have a high risk of catching fire. There are 21 different pillows that have a significant risk.
3. String light sets
If you follow decorative trends, you may have bought string lights from Jo-Ann Stores. If you bought Makers Holiday 10-count LED string lights, do not use them. The glass jars may break and cut you.
4. Pressure washers
Think twice before you use surface cleaners from Briggs and Stratton or Craftsman. The 3000 PSI surface cleaner is dangerous because the spray bar can break off and strike the user or nearby people. This may result in cuts and other injuries.
5. Reusable water bottles
A great way to save money and the earth is drinking out of washable water bottles. However, Reduce Hydro Pro Water Bottles by Base Brands that feature lamb and dog designs are dangerous because they contain lead paint.
As you can see, there are plenty of everyday products that may result in you getting hurt.
